Right: 2015 Pennsylvania Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference and Competition winners Evan Chuss, left, of Moore Township, and Nathaniel Treichler, right, of Northampton Borough, were honored at the May 4 Northampton Area School District Board of Education meeting. The two, along with Bryan Heckman, who was unable to attend the school board meeting, placed second in the state FBLA competition held April 12 in Hershey in the Entrepreneurship category and placed second in the Entrepreneurship category in Region 28. There were 50 teams in the state competition. Evan is FBLA state and Region 28 president. The students are raising $1,200 each to attend the FBLA nationals June 27-July 3 in Chicago. Anita Mateyak, Northampton Area High School business, computer, information and technology teacher and FBLA advisor, also attended the school board meeting. Evan, a Northampton Area High School graduating senior, plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh, to major in business, in the fall. Nathaniel, a Northampton Area High School graduating senior, plans to attend Bloomsburg University to major in accounting, in the fall. As part of their fundraising efforts, a spaghetti dinner was held May 2 at Weaversville Inn.
