State Sen. Patrick Browne, R-16th, was seriously injured when his 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed around 4:33 p.m. May 2 on the I-78 off-ramp to Lehigh Street, Allentown.
According to State Police Troop M Fogels-ville, Browne, 51, of Allentown, was traveling west on I-78 when he entered the curve in the off-ramp and apparently lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to fall on its side.
Police say the bike continued to slide on its side on the roadway until coming to a final rest.
Browne was transported by Allentown EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Allentown Police Department assisted at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation, police say.
Telephone calls to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati, Sen. Browne's office and to State Police Troop M Fogelsville for a report on Browne's condition, were not returned by press time.
