CPA and national social security advisor Paul Stocker will be at the Emmaus Public Library to present a seminar on the ins and outs of Social Security 6:45 to 8:45 p.m.

May 7

Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St. Allentown. The program will be Parkland Strings. Non-members and guests are welcome. Bring a non- perishable food item for the Allentown Food Bank. For more information or questions, call 620-437-4265.

Lower Macungie AARP Chapter #4150 will meet noon in the community room of the Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road. Emmaus Kiwanis Club will host the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus 5K Walk. Registration begins 10 a.m. in the Rose Garden Pavilion, Allentown. For more information, call 610-967-3770.

Alburtis Lions Club and Lehigh Lutheran Church Mother's Day dinner 4 to 7 p.m. at Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, 8269 Spring Creek Road, Alburtis. There is no charge for children under five.

The Lower Lehigh Lions Club spring flea market and garage sale 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Macungie Memorial Park. The rain date is May 10. There are 300 spaces which are all sold out. For more information, visit www.lions14k.org.

Project Lifesaver/ T.R.I.A.D. will share important new information supporting its mission "Bringing Loved Ones Home," at its meeting 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St. Allentown. A program, Improving Balance, will be presented by Sherri Bell of Fox Rehab and Frank DeRosa.

Lower Macungie Garden Club's plant and bake sale will take place 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lower Macungie Township Community Center, Brookside Road. A free informational session on adoption and child foster care will be held 6 p.m. at Diakon Adoption and Foster Care, located on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One S. Home Ave., Topton. The Emmaus Veterans Committee will honor departed comrades buried in each of the six Emmaus cemeteries. All are invited for a short prayer service, rifle salute and taps. Events begin 8 a.m. at Calvary cemetery, then in the following order; Old Moravian, Moravian at Ridge St., Lutheran Reformed, Northwood and ending at Evangelical, Second and Ridge streets.

May 25

Memorial Day Service at the Wescosville World War II Monument starting promptly 9 a.m. sponsored by the Lower Macungie Garden Club along with the Lower Macungie Historical Society to honor all veterans past and present. The public and veterans are all welcome to attend.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will start promptly 9 a.m. at the Emmaus High School parking lot moving to Chestnut Street and ending at the Memorial Triangle. The memorial service will be held at this location. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held in the Emmaus High School auditorium 10 a.m. All veterans are urged to participate with their Posts.

GFWC PA Women's Club of Emmaus' annual spring luncheon at Brookside Country Club, 901 Willow Lane, Macungie. They will celebrate their 75th anniversary. Social hour is 11:30 a.m. to noon. Lunch served at noon. There is a cost. Reservations can be made by calling 610-707-4905 by May 11. Entertainment will be songs of the past 75 years.
