Lehigh Valley Zoo is celebrating its newest resident.
At approximately 3 p.m. on April 25, a scimitar-horned oryx was born.
Once abundant in northern Africa, the overhunted oryx is now extinct in the wild as a result of being slaughtered almost to extinction for its horns, hoofs, and meat.
Visit lvzoo.org for more information or by calling 610-799-4171 ext. 225.
Visit 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday for the Wonders of Wildlife show.
