To the Editor:

Thank you for publishing the excellent article by Beverly Springer on "Volunteer firefighting is a Reiss family legacy" which captured the legacy of the Henry Reiss family's fire service to the Emmaus community. That legacy includes Victoria Schadler, George DeVault and hundreds of volunteer firefighters, auxiliary members and fire police who have served the Emmaus community through the years.

The Reiss family and many others were and are members of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus and serve social ministry in our community.

We remember, pay tribute and are indebted to all deceased, retired and present volunteer firefighters for their faithful service.
