Suspicious activity

A resident in the 1000 block of East Susquehanna Street reported 1:11 p.m. April 17 making a deal with a man to purchase two cellphones. She met the seller on Tilghman Street and later realized the phones did not work. The resident has not been able to contact the man. Police were able to contact the man who will get in touch with the resident.

Identity theft

A resident in the 2900 block of Meadowbrook Circle reported 11:15 a.m. April 17 attempting to file a tax return April 15 and someone else had used their information.

A resident in the 700 block of East Paoli Street reported 3:20 p.m. April 20 attempting to file a tax return using a tax software program and finding out someone else had used their information.

Driving under the influence

Robert Kiefer, 72, of Allentown, was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence following an alleged traffic stop 8:13 p.m. April 19 at the intersection of Emmaus Avenue and Gaskill Avenue. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Threat

A resident in the 2700 block of Andrea Drive reported 2:10 p.m. April 20 receiving a call demanding $900 to release a brother being held hostage. The caller was yelling and swearing. Police are investigating.

A resident in the 1000 block of Hawthorn Road reported 2:11 p.m. April 20 receiving a call demanding money saying the resident's brother was in an accident. The caller wanted money and was yelling. The resident hung up and called the brother who was fine and had not been in an accident.

A resident in the 1100 block of Patricia Drive reported 7 p.m. April 20 receiving a call from a Michael Torres demanding $300. The caller said he was holding the resident's brother hostage following an accident.

Criminal mischief

A resident in the 1300 block of Maumee Avenue reported 6:24 p.m. April 22 an unknown person attempted to gain entry to a garage. The resident found a broken key in the lock. There was no damage to the door and nothing was removed.

Burglar alarms

Salisbury police re- sponded to 10 burglar alarms April 16 through 23.
