The 2014 Property Tax and Rent Rebate program is open and applications are available for property taxes and rent paid in 2014, according to Senate Appropriations Chairman Pat Browne, R-16th.
The rebate program benefits Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older.
The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters.
Remember when calculating income, only half of Social Security income is included.
Residents who meet the program's guidelines and who have not already filed a 2014 Property Tax and Rent Rebate Application may qualify for a rebate of up to $650.
The deadline to apply for a rebate is June 30.
Applications and information are available by visiting or calling any of Browne's district offices: Allentown, 610-821-8468, at 702 Hamilton St., Allentown; Western Lehigh County, 610-366-2327, in the Upper Macungie Township Building, 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigs-ville or Northern Lehigh County office, 610-769-5566, in the North Whitehall Township Building, 3256 Levans Road, Coplay.
