Driver hits gas, car hits Luther Crest building

Volunteer firefighters from Cetronia Fire Department and South Whitehall Township police responded 9:45 a.m April 15 for reports of a car hitting a building at Luther Crest retirement community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall Township.

According to Deputy Police Chief John Christman, Kathryn Jacobs, 96, was driving her 2003 Hyundai Elantra she accidentally accelerated instead of braking.

Her car left the roadway, crossed some landscaping and bumped the administration building.

Minor damage was reported to the landscaping and the building.

Cetronia Ambulance personnel treated Jacobs for minor injuries.

South Whitehall Police Sgt. George Hummel told The Press April 15, there was some structural damage to the administration building.

Faust Towing removed the car from the scene.
