The Woman's Club of Whitehall has named Emily Brand as its Girl of the Month for March.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Brand of Whitehall, Emily is a senior at Whitehall High School.

She has been named to the high honor roll for all marking periods.

She is a member of Key Club, Art Club, Leo Club and Zephyr Nation.

She is a four-year member of the track and field team and the cross country team, of which she was captain.

She is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society.

She was named Zephyr Student of the Month and Athlete of the Month and was recognized as the most outstanding in distance for track and field and as the most valuable female runner in cross country. She is the high school's record holder for the 3200-meter and 1600-meter runs.

She is the recipient of the DAR Good Citizen's Award and the first-place winner of the Woman's Club Festival of the Arts program.

She has participated in the MS Walkathon, women's breast cancer run and St. Luke's half-marathon. She has volunteered at her church's picnic and with the Lehighton half-marathon and Special Olympics 5-K.

Emily plans to attend a four-year college, majoring in the sciences.
