Shortly after 4 p.m. April 16, firefighters from Eastern and Western Salisbury fire departments and Salisbury Township Public Safety respond to the 400 block of East Emmaus Avenue for a brush fire. When crews arrived they found brush, trees and piles of wood on fire.
The fire was spreading quickly due to dry, windy conditions and was approaching a house and boat. Firefighters in wildfire gear used several hoses and tools to contain the fire. Crews used foam to soak the large piles of wood to ensure the fire was out.
