ANCIENT OAK COLUMN Ancient Oak garage sale April 25

The Ancient Oak Women's Organization will meet at Morgan's Restaurant May 6. Cocktails will be served 6 p.m., dinner 6:30 p.m. The organization will meet again in the fall. The members would like to thank those who helped with various activities. New members are always welcome.

The annual Ancient Oak garage sale will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25. There is no rain date.

The Lower Macungie Senior Citizens meet noon the first and third Tuesday of the month at the community center on Brookside Road. Games are played after a short business meeting.

Now is the time to gather all those piles of unwanted documents. A free shredding day will be held at the Lower Macungie Township municipal building parking lot 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25. Four boxes of documents per household will be permitted. Lower Macungie Township and state Representative Ryan Mackenzie, R-134th, are sponsors of the event.

The annual May Day Festival will be held May 3 in Lock Ridge Park, Franklin Street, Alburtis, noon to 5 p.m. Visit the many vendor stands. Try the delicious food and enjoy the entertainment. At 2 p.m. the May Queen will be crowned and members of her court will pay homage with songs and dancing.

Alburtis Lions Club and Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church will hold a Mother's Day dinner 4 to 7 p.m. May 9 at the church, 8269 Spring Creek Road. Bring the family and enjoy ham, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dessert and beverages. For information, call 610-336-9863.
