Lowhill

Lehigh Valley Zoo's Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Center is now open.

In this habitat, the latest of Lehigh Valley Zoo's exhibits, explorers will find everything from the local Pennsylvania timber rattlesnake to the the elusive red-eyed tree frog, native to Central and South America.

Memberships to the Lehigh Valley Zoo include unlimited zoo admission and valuable discounts, all while supporting a home to more than 300 animal ambassadors and playing a role in wildlife conservation.

Christ's Church at Lowhill will be having a penny party April 17. Doors open 6 p.m. Bidding starts 7 p.m.

Players receive a packet of cut out numbers for a small fee. Purchase as many packets as you want.

Each auction item costs between 1 cent to $1, depending on the item.

There will be a wide variety of donated prizes from which to choose.

Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, will be accepting donations to stock shelves 9-11 a.m. April 25.

Donations may be made by appointment by calling 610-298-2054 or by calling Nancy Holbrook at 610-674-2440.

Gress Mountain Ranch, 3264 Highland Road, Orefield, a 15-acre sanctuary and home to more than 50 animals rescued from abuse or neglect, is looking for campers in grades three to 10, sponsors, volunteers and donations for Ranch Camp June 22-26, July 13-17 and Aug. 3-7.

Registration is now open, sponsorships may be available for low-income families.
