Siegfried Elementary School student Laila Grantham stands beside Mrs. Sallit, assistant principal, after students used duct tape to attach her to a wall in the school. Students earned pieces of tape by meeting reading goals during a three-week period. They took turns placing tape on Sallit and the principal, Mrs. Cunningham, who stood on chairs until the last piece of tape was used. The event was organized to promote reading during Read Across America week.
