Rapid advances in technology and the transition of healthcare facilities to electronic health records (EHR) has increased the need for certified electronic health records technicians, with job growth in this field expected to increase.
Northampton Community College is now offering a program leading to certification as a certified electronic health records specialist (CEHRS).
As a CEHRS, you will assist healthcare facilities and federal government agencies in the proper handling of electronic patient data. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts and functions associated with keeping electronic health records and will be prepared to take the National Healthcareer Association's CEHRS certification exam.
The $105 exam fee is not included in the tuition.
This course is offered Saturdays, April 11 through June 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.
The fee for the course is $795.
