Northampton couple

marks 40th anniversary

Robert and Gloria Schlicher of Northampton celebrated their 40th anniversary April 5.

Robert is the son of the late Anna and Charles Schlicher. He served in the Marine Corps from 1966-'69 in Vietnam. He retired from Tarkett Inc. Whitehall, in 2002.

Gloria is the daughter of Edith Bartholomew of Bethlehem and the late Walter Bartholomew.

She retired from the United States Post Office Lehigh Valley in 2014 after 25 years of service.

The couple met at Stuart Mills, Allentown, where they both worked.

They have a son, Michael, of Bethlehem, and a daughter, Michelle Ballard, of Maryland.

They have four granddaughters: Julia, Abbie, Madison and Emmalee.

The couple enjoys spending time with family.
