ALBURTIS COLUMN Fundraiser for historical society includes phantoms, monsters, ghosts and more

There will be a fundraising night for the benefit of the Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society at the Alburtis Community Center 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 18. The paranormal roundtable will include discussions on subjects such as phantoms and monsters for teen research, UFO research, Ghost Hunters Society, legend hunters and more. There is a charge. A monthly open house will be held at the Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society, 403 Franklin St. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be available.

The annual May Day Festival in Lockridge Park will be noon to 5 p.m. May 3. Enjoy a day of visiting vendors' wares, food and entertainment. The crowning of this year's May Queeen will be 2 p.m. Girls ages nine to 11 are needed for maypole dancing. Younger girls are needed for posie and archer plays. The Alburtis senior citizens meet noon April 15 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Penn Avenue and Quarry Road. Bingo and games are played after a short business meeting.

Bingo games are held at the Alburtis Community Center, Second and Walnut streets, every Friday evening. Doors open 5:30 p.m. and games begin promptly 7 p.m. This will be the last month for games until the fall.
