The Rural Preservation Association of Northwestern Lehigh County is sponsoring a recycling and cleanup event 8 a.m. to noon April 11 at the Lowhill Township Municipal Building, Route 100.

Donations will help RPA-NLC fund scholarships for Northwestern Lehigh students.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will host its annual Easter egg hunt 1 p.m. April 4.

Decorated eggs for the hunt may be dropped off 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of the event.

Guest violin soloist Rebecca Brown will perform during Morgenland's Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. April 3.

Brown teaches at Cedar Crest College and performs regularly with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, the Bach Festival Orchestra and the Allentown Symphony.

The Easter dawn communion service will be at 6:30 a.m. April 5, followed by breakfast.

A Celebration of the Resurrection communion service will be at 9 a.m.

Morgenland Church would also like to thank everyone who participated in candy, soup and hoagie sales.

Christ's Church at Lowhill will have a penny party April 17. Doors open 6 p.m. Bidding starts at 7 p.m.

To play, you will receive a packet of cut-out numbers for a small fee. Purchase as many packets as you want.

Each item up for auction costs between 1 cent and $1. Place numbers in one bin. Pennies in another.

The announcer then picks a number and calls out the winner. There will be a wide variety of donated prizes from which to choose.

Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, has just unveiled a new website.

The pantry is currently collecting the following items for donation: peanut butter, jelly, cereal, hearty soups, chili, canned pasta, toilet paper, paper towels and napkins, kitchen and bathroom cleaner, and pet food.

New socks in adult sizes may be dropped off at both New Tripoli Banks and ESSA Bank for the Blessing Shop's collection of new and nearly new clothing located in the basement of the food pantry.

Families who qualify for food items in the pantry are also welcomed to select from the new and gently used clothing, toys and household items donated in the shop.
