John F. Smith, 83, formerly of Breinigsville, died Feb. 28, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice. He was the husband of the late Ruth H. Smith.

Born in Red Hill, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Mossmann) Smith.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He retired from Mack Trucks after working there for many years.

He is survived by four sons, Robert E. of Rixeyville of Virginia, Ronald L. of Northampton, John R. of Chandler, Ariz., and James P. of Lehighton; two grandsons, Gregory and James Smith; and two sisters, JoAnn Ainsworth and Carolyn Revilee.
