Nominees are sought for the annual Salisbury Township Volunteer Recognition Program.

The deadline for nominees has been extended until the next township meeting 7 p.m. April 9.

The deadline stated on the township website had been March 31.

Township commissioners voted 5-0 at the March 26 meeting to declare the month of April as "Volunteer Month."

Commissioner Joanne Ackerman made the motion for the vote, seconded by Robert Martucci, Jr.

The date for the volunteer awards dinner in the township municipal building is to be announced.

According to the township website, the volunteer recognition awards program is "to honor individuals who have dedicated their time and energy to further the Salisbury Township community's quality of life."

The proclamation recognizes "the value and the benefits of the volunteers' efforts and contributions."
