Three Salisbury Police Department officers helped kick off 2015 traffic enforcement efforts with a three-hour traffic detail in the area of South Pike Avenue and East Emmaus Avenue March 12.
Officers issued eight traffic speeding citations.
Additional traffic citations included: four safety inspection or emissions violations; one expired state registration plate; one driver without insurance documentation; three drivers with a suspended license or without a license; 13 equipment violations; and one arrest for counterfeit vehicle documents.
Traffic Safety Senior Patrol Officer Bryan Losagio said multiple similar traffic enforcement details will continue in the months ahead.
"As always, the aim of these traffic details is to make the streets and roads in Salisbury Township more safe for our residents and the drivers passing through our community.
"We will continue a policy of zero tolerance for drivers who do not obey traffic safety regulations. We want traffic in our community to be as safe as we can help it to be," Losagio said.
