Theft
Reported by a resident of the 300 block of North Second Street Feb. 13, a large amount of jewelry and cash was stolen from a safe in a residence sometime over the past year.
Robyn D. Carey, 29, of 2040 N. Lehigh Ave., Whitehall, was arrested for theft Feb. 15 after police were called about an altercation between patrons at Volpes Sports Bar, 501 Broad St. Following an altercation between several female patrons, several of whom were ejected by staff, police were called to the business regarding theft of a cell phone. Upon investigation, police found Carey allegedly in possession of the cell phone. Carey was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Carey was processed at Lehigh County Central Booking.
DUI
Miguel Velez. Jr., 29, of 705 W. Montgomery St., Allentown, was charged with allegedly driving under the influence after he was stopped for alleged traffic violations in the 200 block of Main Street 2:50 a.m. Feb. 7. Charges include driving under the influence, general impairment, red light violation and speeding. Velez was processed and released.
Isiah Alfred Suber, 25, of 123 S. Fourth St., Emmaus, was charged with driving under the influence after police were called to an accident at Fourth and Broad streets 4:55 a.m. Feb. 12. Suber allegedly struck a parked vehicle and left the roadway. Charges include driving under the influence and general impairment. Suber was processed and released.
Blake D Madtes, 22, of 317 S. 12th St., Emmaus, was charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped for an alleged red light violation along State Avenue 2:10 a.m. Feb. 21. Charges include driving under the influence, general impairment and a red light violation. Madtes was processed and released.
Roberto Vasquez Valdez, 33, of 1612 Hamilton St., Allentown, was charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped for alleged traffic violations along the 600 block of State Avenue 2:20 a.m. Feb. 23. Charges include driving under the influence, general impairment, and driving without a license. Valdez was processed and released.
Identity theft
Reported by an Emmaus resident Feb. 23, someone filed an income tax return using the resident's name and social security number Jan. 20 and received a $4,900 tax refund. The police investigation is continuing.
Criminal mischief
Reported by several residents of the 500 block of Furnace Street, several vehicles were struck with eggs overnight Feb. 22.
