Do you love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors? Volunteering at Lehigh Valley Zoo, Schnecksville, may be the perfect opportunity for you.

Volunteer opportunities include: special events, maintaining facilities and grounds, gardening and horticulture, development and marketing, guest services, zoo clean team or zoo docent.

Zoo docents are trained as guides to share special information about animals and are assigned to an interactive exhibit.

To volunteer, fill out an application at lvzoo.org and mail or fax to Lehigh Valley Zoo. For information, call 610-799-4171.

All volunteers at Lehigh Valley Zoo must be at least 16.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is collecting old eyeglasses to be recycled by the Lions Club. Spectacles can be brought to the church during March.

The church is having a pork and sauerkraut dinner 4-7 p.m. March 21. Meal includes all-you-can-eat pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, cottage cheese and apple butter, rolls and desserts.

During the dinner, an Easter dinner themed basket will be raffled. The basket includes a canned ham, bag of potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce, muffin mix, dessert mix, crystal light lemonade mix, coffee, four placemats and napkins, four wine glasses, and a $25 gift card.

The community is invited to help Morgenland Church clean up the grove 8:30 a.m. March 28.

A special showing of Disney's "Big Hero 6" is being presented by the special events committee March 28. Hot dogs and popcorn will be available at 5 p.m. Movie starts at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish. Children can bring a blanket and pillows.

Christ's Church at Lowhill's penny party will be April 17. Doors open 6 p.m. Bidding starts 7 p.m.

Christ's Church at Lowhill Food Pantry has just unveiled a new website.

The pantry will be accepting donations to stock shelves between 9-11 a.m. March 28.
