SALISBURY TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT

As part of the Apple Distinguished Program initiative, Salisbury Township School District sponsored a site visit March 10 for educators from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware to learn about its teaching and learning initiative, TL2020. Over 35 educators from the region convened at Salisbury High School to hear about the 1:1 digital device program now in its fourth year.

During the site visit, Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss, Supervisor of Instructional Practice Lynn Fuini-Hetten and Coordinator of Technology Christopher Smith reviewed the goals and various other aspects of the program including the importance of board support, professional development, evaluation and assessment and next steps.

The centerpiece of the morning included the opportunity for visitors to observe classrooms and engage with students and teachers in kindergarten through grade 12. The morning concluded with a question and answer session.

Administrators, teachers and students enjoyed the opportunity to share student and teacher work with a wide audience. Visitors provided feedback indicating the visit was a valuable learning opportunity.

"I really appreciated the warmness and culture that is present in your school. Everyone was very helpful and obviously passionate about learning and teaching."
