Our daughter Caroline participated in the Shave for the Brave event at Emmaus High School March 13. Students, teachers, cancer survivors and their families and community members all gathered to have their heads shaved to raise money for pediatric cancer research. They raised over $50,000 for St. Baldrick's Foundation. After having a 13 inch braid cut off to donate, Caroline had the rest of her hair shaved off during an emotional evening. Ben, in his eloquent style, announced Caroline looks like a boy. The rest of us think she looks lovely.

The next township column will be published April 15; copy deadline is April 9.
