Delno E., Supplee IV, 21, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2007 GMC Sierra, 1:57 a.m. Feb. 20 north along Lyon Valley Road, near the intersection with Borger Stadt Road, Weisenberg Township, when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the snow covered roadway.
Police, who allege Supplee was driving too fast for conditions, say the truck struck a utility pole and slid down an embankment, where it came to a final rest on the east side of the roadway.
Police say Supplee, who was uninjured, allegedly fled from the scene before they arrived.
Charges were filed against Supplee with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
He was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, along with two other traffic violations, police say.
