PASR's Lehigh Chapter named three-star chapter

The Lehigh Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees was recently recognized by the state association for providing a broad array of social opportunities for members, for expanding and improving economic benefits for members, and for helping to strengthen and grow the association.

No other local organization received a greater number of awards, enabling Lehigh members to claim the distinction of being a "three-star chapter," the only one statewide.

PASR's Executive Director Richard C. Rowland commended Lehigh Chapter for its accomplishments during the 2014 Ruth Abigail Boyer Leadership Conference.

"Our organization's mission, to serve others in need and help one another enjoy retirement, is clearly in your hearts," Rowland said. "You are serving a very important need and a common desire of all retired public school employees in Lehigh County by providing opportunities for individuals who were often separated while working due to the positions they held or their union/organizational affiliations, allowing them to come together in retirement and simply enjoy themselves."

For more information about the Lehigh Chapter and the many services this chapter provides, contact Chapter President Daisy B. Pearson of New Tripoli at epearson@ptd.net or at 610-285-0144.
