LW Consulting Inc., the management firm for Cedarbrook nursing home for the more than a decade, has formally given notice it will not seek to renew its current contract.
The contract expires June 30.
In a letter to Lehigh County Executive Tom Muller, president and Chief Executive Officer Lisa Wilt cited the "current political environment" and as fundamental to the decision not to consider with the county.
Wilt described Lehigh County Commissioners as "continually looking over our shoulders and trying to micromanage the facility."
LW Consulting has run Cedarbrook for the past 11 years.
In a press announcement, Muller wrote "LW has done an outstanding job of managing our Cedarbrook nursing homes through very challenging times."
Muller said LW has beaten the budget "eight out of 11 years" and consistently received four-star rating by Medicare.
Lehigh County will intiate a Request for Proposals process for a new management firm by early April 11.
