Mackenzie invites residents to Special Needs Awareness Day

State Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-134th, is inviting area residents to his fourth annual Special Needs Awareness Day, held in conjunction with St. Luke's University Health Network, Mass Mutual Financial Group and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation.

The event will take place 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 14, at St. Luke's West End Medical Center, 501 Cetronia Road, South Whitehall.

The free event is open to individuals of all ages, as well as to their family members and caregivers.

More than 40 vendors will be on hand to share information about services and programs available to the special needs community.

"People with special needs are a vital part of our community, and numerous organizations and agencies are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those who have physical challenges or intellectual disabilities," Mackenzie said. "Too often, individuals go without the resources they need because they aren't aware of what is available. Special Needs Awareness Day is an excellent opportunity to get informed about such services and programs."
