Beginning with the entering class of the fall 2015, Cedar Crest College will offer scholarships to Girl Scouts.
Recognizing and valuing the commitment of the Girl Scouts to similar goals in the areas of service, leadership, achievement and cooperation, two scholarships are available for incoming students who have demonstrated a commitment as a Girl Scout.
Available scholarships include the Gold Award Recipient Scholarship and the Girl Scout Involvement Scholarship and are offered to all Scouts involved in Girl Scouts nationally. Both awards will be renewed for four consecutive years, pending the student's successful academic progress and full-time enrollment.
The Gold Award Recipient Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship given to a student who has received their Girl Scout Gold Award in the previous four years and has a high school or college GPA of 3.5 or better. Applicants are required to provide documentation of receipt of the Gold Award. The total value of this award is $20,000 over four years of enrollment at Cedar Crest College.
A total of five recipients of the Girl Scout Involvement Scholarship will be awarded $1,000 for a total value of $4,000 over four years of enrollment at Cedar Crest College. Applicants must submit a 250 word essay and documentation of Girl Scout membership for at least two years in high school.
Applicants may apply for both scholarships, but scholarships will only be awarded in one category per person. This scholarship may not be combined with the Allen Scholarship, Raise.me program, or other community service scholarships offered by Cedar Crest College. Deadline for submitting an application has been extended to March 15, 2015.
