Volunteers are needed to set up, staff and clear away the 17th annual Friends of the Emmaus Public Library Used Book Sale scheduled April 25.

The sale will be held in the cafeteria of the Lower Macungie Middle School.

Set up begins at the close of the school day April 24 and ends before the 6 p.m. start of the preview sale.

Volunteers are needed to help load about 500 boxes of pre-sorted books stored at the library onto a truck donated by the R. L. Reppert Company, a service generously donated by the Emmaus-based company every year the sale has been held at the middle school.

About 18,000 books will be available for purchase. Arranged by category for easier shopping, the titles will include recent fiction, health and wellness topics, mysteries, histories, biographies, cookbooks, hobbies, business, literature and children's books. A special section of first edition and rare books will be for sale at market prices. An assortment of CDs and DVDs also will be included in the sale.

At the 3:45 p.m. close of the sale April 25 there is a particular need for volunteers to pack and load the remaining books and unload the boxes at the Emmaus Public Library.

If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity (sale set up, during the sale and sale breakdown), email eplfriend@yahoo.com with "Book Sale Volunteer" in the subject line.

Book sale proceeds benefit the Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus.
