Top readers Megan Lin, left, a fifth grader in Andi Cook's class, and Alexis Bundra, a fourth grader in Ellen Luybli's class, show off their favorite books. Megan read 10,242 book pages and Alexis read 11,121 pages to help Zephyr Elementary School achieve its goal of reading 300,000 pages in a marking period as part of the reading challenge. Zephyr students have been trying for several years to reach this goal. Principal Terri Miller has been offering the challenge with the bet being she would dye her hair blue if the students succeeded. Last marking period the students finally reached the goal by reading 309,000 pages. Miller kept her promise and dyed her hair blue.
