UPPER AND LOWER MILFORD COLUMN All-you-can-eat dinners and breakfasts are on the menu

Old Zionsville UCC Church, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, is offering two chances to eat out this month.

A family style all-you-can-eat homemade Dutch potpie dinner will be served 4 to 7 p.m. March 7.

The menu includes Dutch potpie, buttered carrots, pickled beets, applesauce, rolls, coffee, tea and pie for dessert.

There is a charge for guests 6 years old and over. For information, call 610-966-5242. The dinner is sponsored by the church's social and aid society.

Old Zionsville UCC also will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet 7 to 11 a.m. March 21.

The menu includes bacon, ham, sausage, eggs, French toast, pancakes, deep fried potatoes, chipped beef, juice, coffee, tea, fruit cup and dessert. There will also be a bake sale. For information call 610-966-5115.

On March 31, artisan and Upper Milford Historical Society member Frank T. Willis will give a presentation to the Hivel und Dahl Preservation Society at the Upper Milford Township building, Zionsville. Willis will talk about the art of hornwork and will have examples of his historically accurate work and original horns and horn products.

Willis trained as a field biologist and has spent his professional career in the transportation industry. He has been making powder horns and leatherwork since 1969 and has taught and demonstrated his craft in many venues.

He is president of History In The Making, a company representing historical artisans. He lives with his wife, Faith, in Shimerville.

Upper Milford Fire Company, Route 100, Old Zionsville, will next hold an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast event 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 3. There are senior, adult and children's prices. There will not be a breakfast in April due to the Easter holiday.

St. Peter's Union Church, 7863 St. Peter's Road, Macungie, will hold its annual spring bazaar 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28. The event will feature food, gifts, craft tables, a used book sale and raffles. To rent a table contact Janet at 610-845-8070 or the church office at 610-966-3030.

Lower Milford Fire Company, 1601 Limeport Pike, will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 12. Eat in or take out.

The Upper Milford supervisors will meet March 5 and 19, with a 7 p.m. workshop and the regular meeting 7:30 p.m.

The Upper Milford Recreation Commission meets March 19.

The Emmaus-Upper Milford Joint Environmental Advisory Council meets 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month, alternating between Emmaus and Upper Milford. The council is scheduled to meet in Upper Milford March 23.

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. March 26. Candace Perry, curator of the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center in Pennsburg, will talk about Pa. German fraktur. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served. For information, contact Neil Moser at 610-966-4376.
