Fire crews from Lower Macungie and Western Salisbury fire departments were dispatched to a dwelling fire around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 25 in the 1100 block of Zola Court in Lower Macungie Township.
Lehigh County dispatchers reported a working house fire.
First arriving units from the Lower Macungie fire department found heavy fire coming from the rear of the home, prompting a request for a second-alarm assignment from Lower Macungie Fire Chief Dave Nosal. Additional crews from Emmaus, South Whitehall and Upper Macungie fire departments responded to the scene.
Allentown City Fire Department engine 10 provided a rapid intervention team to assist should any firefighters get into trouble due to the severe nature of the fire. EMS crews from Macungie Ambulance Corps. also responded.
No injuries were reported but there is an unconfirmed report a family pet was lost in the fire.
