LC Commissioners Cedarbrook advisory team moves forward

A Cedarbrook Nursing Home advisory team has been created by the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners.

The board unanimously passed a resolution at its Feb. 25 meeting creating the advisory team.

The group will have three months to create three long-range plans for the nursing home.

Board Chairman Brad Osborne said he is looking forward to the team's input regarding the future of Cedarbrook.

Board member Percy Dougherty was less hopeful of the team.

"We may not like the report that comes back to us," he said.

Osborne said the team will work in accordance with the Pennsylvania Sunshine Law, ensuring meetings are open to the public.

The team, which will consist of five to nine members, will begin working on directives and priorities next month.

Osborne will select the first three members of the team March 24.

The remaining six will then be selected by the initial three members, who will be approved by the board.

The board is aiming for a June 30 submission date for recommendations.

"I hope we stay on a good schedule and get this done expeditiously," Dougherty said.

The county is now advertising for volunteers to serve on the team.
