Paula and Frances Manwiller, happily married for 65 years, are crowned king and queen of the Weston Senior Living Center of Emmaus, Feb. 14. Following a special dinner prepared by Weston chefs, the couple was toasted with sparkling cider champagne and everyone joined them in an evening of music, dancing and singing. Paul met Frances in East Greenville. He was cruising in his 1946 Chevy and saw Frances on a corner with friends and it was love at first sight. He asked her to go to Hershey Park to have a soda and a sundae and they were together from that time on. Paul went into the Air Force and when he came home on leave, he popped the question and they were married Sept. 2, 1950. They have two daughters, two grandsons and one step-grandson. Paul worked at Air Products for 27 years. Frances worked at the Ambassador Restaurant on Hamilton Street for 28 years. She also ran Fran's Bake Shop from her home on Broad Street in Emmaus for eight years. They share a favorite pastime of traveling throughout the world to Brazil, England and Germany.
