Neighborhood Housing Services of the Lehigh Valley Inc. is working to ease the process for individuals and consumers buying their first home.

NHS offers assistance through a variety of low interest, or zero interest, loans to offset the expense of down payment and closing costs. Individuals and families of low- to moderate-income are encouraged to learn about the programs offered and, if qualified, to use the help to help them own a home.

According to findings from the second annual America at Home survey commissioned by NeighborWorks America®, a national nonprofit community development corporation based in Washington, D.C., 70 percent of U.S. adults are unaware of down payment assistance programs available for middle-income homebuyers in their community.
