Romance and adventure intertwine in the iconic musical "Hello Dolly!," 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27, 28 and 2 p.m. March 1, Dyer Auditorium, Moravian Academy, 4313 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township.
"Dolly represents a style of show and an era that we haven't touched as a company in several years," says Jarrod Yuskauskas, Director of Theatre Arts at Moravian Academy.
Choreographer is Alex Jo Natale. Music director is Dr. Yvonne Robinson. Orchestra conductor is Dr. Richard Fanning.
Megan Keller (Dolly Levi) and Griiffin-Smith Nichols (Mr. Vandergelder) lead a cast of nearly 40 student actors.
"Hello, Dolly!" was first produced on Broadway in 1964, receiving a then record 10 Tony Awards. A 1969 movie verson received three Oscars. The musical, with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart, is based on Thornton Wilder's play, "The Matchmaker."
