More than 400 vocational-technical students competed Feb. 5 in the District 11 SkillsUSA championship. Those who earned gold medals advance to the national competition. Northampton gold medal winners include Logan Koehler, automotive service specialization; Quinn Strohl, collision repair technology; Nick Abrams, HVAC and refrigeration; Lee Petrie, medical terminiology; Kyra Beers, precision machining technology; and Emily Viola; cosmetology. Second-place winners include Eugene Kocher, electronics technology; Samantha Trinkle and Alicia Williams, health knowledge bowl; Kaden Chambers and Austin Kolesnik, teamworks; and Kyle Miller, technical drafting. Joe Scott earned a third-place medal in carpentry.
