LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

YWCA

Every year area teens have an opportunity to "go green" by donating their prom gowns to the YWCA Prom Dress Day hosted by the YWCA of Bethlehem. The annual event, which will be open to area high school girls March 28, will feature hundreds of gently worn gowns and accessories.

Gowns and accessories can be taken to YWCA of Bethlehem Empowerment Center, 3893 Adler Place, Building A, Suite 180, Bethlehem.

In addition to the YWCA, donations can be dropped off 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, 2633 Moravian Ave., Allentown, and Sculpt Hair Studio, 2700 Sullivan Trail, 10A, Forks, through March 18.

The YWCA is looking for gently used gowns, accessories and shoes. Gowns of all sizes and lengths are needed, including plus size.

In addition to dresses and accessories, the YWCA of Bethlehem is in need of rolling racks to display the dresses plus volunteers to help set up March 27 and assist on the day of the event.

Prom Dress Day is a community service providing prom dresses to area students for a small fee.

Prom Dress Day will be open to students (with identification) 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 28 at the State Theater, 453 Northampton St., Easton. For more information, call YWCA of Bethlehem at 610-867-4669, ext. 104 or email Catharine.lee@ ywcabethlehem.org.
