LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q What grade are you currently in?

AThis is my senior year at Salisbury High School.

QWhat is your favorite subject? Why?

A English has always been my favorite subject. I read often in my free time but I especially love to write. It's a form of art different from the rest; something we all use, but only some truly embrace.

QHave you received any special awards or recognition?

AI am proud to say I am the 2015 class president. Currently I rank 12th in the class and am a member of National Honor Society. Junior year, I received the Penn State Emerging Leaders award.

QWhat extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?

A After four years, I am the vice president of the Model United Nations team and the A Team Questioner for debate. I am also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. I used to be more involved with sports, but in my junior year I joined the theater program instead. The spring musical is my fourth production acting and I also work with our director to design the costumes. Outside of school I take piano and voice lessons and I enjoy shooting archery.

QWhat is your next goal after high school?

A After high school, I want to focus on finding what it is I really want from life. I will be going to college in hopes of finding a career field I truly enjoy. Another goal post-high school is definitely to travel. I've spent my entire life in one place. I don't want to grow old without seeing the world.

QWhat would you say your biggest challenge was so far?

A My greatest challenge is finding time for three square meals and more than five hours of sleep per night.

QWhat do you want to be remembered for?

A Having my name in a history book was never something I was really concerned with. I want the people who remember me to be those who I am close to. I want to be remembered because I touched their life in a way that is truly unforgettable.

QWho is in your family?

AMy family includes my mom and dad, and my two older brothers, Todd and Dominic. We also have two adorable dogs, Nomi and Teague and a beta fish.

Q Do you have someone you look up to?

A My grandpa isn't with us anymore, but he has always been someone I looked up to. He didn't make life difficult. He just did what made him happy. He was honest, hardworking and more in love with his wife than any other couple I've seen. Tough times never phased my grandpa, and he knew if he kept his loved ones close everything would work out. I hope when I'm old I have half the amazing stories to tell as he told me.

QDo you have any advice for your peers?

A Do what makes you happy, give it your best and never pass up on another scoop of ice cream.
