Terroristic threats

Pennsylvania State Police were called to Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, 4500 Education Park Drive, North Whitehall Township, 2:05 p.m. Feb. 6 after a suspicious object was found. Police evacuated students and personnel as a safety precaution while police investigated the scene. The object was found to be safe and removed. An unnamed juvenile is a suspect in the incident, according to a press release from police. The investigation continues.

Possession of untaxed cigarettes

A Brooklyn, N.Y., resident was taken into custody after a traffic stop along Interstate 78 at mile marker 59.3, Salisbury Township, 1:43 a.m. Feb. 5. According to police, a search of the vehicle revealed 260 cartons of untaxed cigarettes in the trunk of the vehicle. Police suspect the operator of the vehicle was transporting the cigarettes from Virginia to Brooklyn.
