CENTRAL CATHOLIC COLUMN Senior retreat scheduled Feb. 24 to 27

Central Catholic students and staff welcomed Pius X students Feb. 9 for a shadow day.

Pius students were given the opportunity to join Central students for the day and see the school from a student perspective. Allentown Central Catholic wants to offer Pius X students the chance to continue their Catholic education and hope they will consider CCHS.

The closing of a school in the diocese is sad news. However, Central is expected to continue to keep its doors open for years to come and provide the best education it can to its students.

For any students from other area schools who may be considering Central, additional shadow days are available. More information can be found through the admissions office at the school.

Also coming up is Kairos VIII for the seniors. This retreat will be held Feb. 24 through 27. The focus of the retreat is finding new friends and accepting others for who they are.

Student leaders for the retreat are selected from participants from Kairos VII. A few members of the junior class are selected to participate as well. These juniors will be student leaders next year when they are seniors.

Kairos is one of Central Catholic's most recommended and encouraged retreats as it provides a different atmosphere for communication and a focus on caring for and respecting others.
