ALBURTIS COLUMN Boy Scout Troop 86 holds hunting and fishing flea market

On March 1, Boy Scout Troop #86 will hold its 21st annual hunting and fishing flea market at the community center, Walnut and Second streets. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available. There is an admission charge for folks 12 and older. Admission is free for the younger children. February is a month of important days. Presidents Day is Feb. 16. No school, bank holidays. No mail delivery. Ash Wednesday is Feb. 18. Valentine's Day is Feb. 14– a time to exchange loving, funny and/or sentimental cards. Today, Presidents Day is for the two presidents and most valentines are mailed or texted.

The Alburtis Borough office will be closed Presidents Day.

The senior citizens meet Feb. 18 weather permitting at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Quarry Road and Penn Avenue.

Friday night bingo is held at the community center, Second and Walnut streets, until April. Doors open 5:30 p.m., games begin 7 p.m. with cash prizes.

Watch for information about the annual May Day Festival held in Lock Ridge Park.
