Salisbury's Lindsay Bauer statistically had her worst game of the season against Palmerton last week, finishing with four points.

That performance, which ended with a 47-40 loss for the Falcons, didn't sit well with the junior guard.

Three days later, she redeemed herself in another tough Colonial League matchup as the postseason quickly approaches.

Bauer scored a game-high 19 points and Meagan Eripret added 17 to help lead Salisbury (16-4 overall; 11-4 in Colonial League) to a 56-43 victory over the Pirates (11-8 overall; 10-6 in Colonial League) on Friday night at Palisades High School. In a game in which the Falcons led from the opening tip, the Pirates got to within four points midway through the third quarter before Salisbury pushed its lead back to double digits early into the fourth period.

"Last game against Palmerton, my shots weren't dropping," Bauer said. "I was having difficulty driving, and I kind of lost confidence in myself. Today, I just had to come in 110 percent. I didn't let anything get me down. If I missed, I had to keep trying."

Entering Friday's tilt, both teams were fighting for a No. 3 or 4 seed in the Colonial League tournament, which would award a first-round home game in the playoffs.

That win over the Pirates put the Falcons in a good position to earn one of those spots. They currently hold the No. 4 seed and are a half-game ahead of Saucon Valley in the standings.

"We had to beat them [Palisades] to keep on our roll," Bauer said. "We needed this to give us confidence going into Northwestern and Southern Lehigh. We played with a lot of heart. This game was probably the most energetic game we played all year."

After Bauer and Eripret combined for 20 points in the first half that gave Salisbury a 26-15 lead going into the break, the Falcons posted their largest lead at the time seconds into the third period at 28-16.

But the Pirates, behind a team-high 18 points from Karlee Krchnavi, weren't ready to throw in the towel just yet. Krchnavi scored seven in the third, and her three-point play 2:54 into the second half brought the Pirates to within five points. Katie King hit a critical 3-pointer moments later to bring Salisbury's lead to 32-28.

But that was a close as the host Pirates would get.

The Falcons closed the third on a 10-5 spurt, and grew their lead to 48-34 after Eripret's three-point play with 5:30 remaining in regulation. The Pirates failed to get Salisbury's lead under nine the rest of the way.

"I feel like halftime kind of kills the momentum a bit," Bauer said. "Coming back, they probably got a good talking to in the locker room. They came back angry and ready to play."

To go with her 17 points, Eripret grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked four shots. Kelly Gonoude added eight.

Gabby Reiman hit three three-pointers for nine points, and Liz Sessinger also scored nine for the Pirates.

Salisbury hosted Northwestern on Tuesday, but results were not available at time of press. The Falcons travel to Southern Lehigh on Thursday to cap off the regular season. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
