State Police Beat

Light switch cover, wood stove stolen

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say a 34-year old woman from Nash-ville, Ga., reported a refrigator, stove, wood stove, two ceiling fans and a light switch cover were stolen sometime between Nov. 31, 2014, and Jan. 16 from a home in the 4200 block of Clover Hollow Road, Washington Township.

Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact state police at 610-861-2026.

Vehicle damaged

in hotel parking lot

Police say Mark Edward Boyko of Germansville reported the driver's door on his vehicle sustained minor damaged around 2 a.m. Dec. 28, 2014, after it was kicked while parked in the parking lot at the Best Station Hotel, 4225 Best Station Road, Washington Township.

Police say an individual was identified, however, Boyko refused to cooperate with prosecution.

Car runs

over boulder

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say John V. Chiladni Jr., 39, of Hazleton was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry 4:45 p.m. Jan. 19 north on Route 309, just north of Gun Club Road, Lynn Township, when the car ran over a boulder in the roadway with the passenger side of the vehicle.

The car came to a final rest approximately 50 feet in front of the boulder in the right lane.

Chiladni, who wearing his seat belt, was uninjured, police say.

The car was removed by Soley's Towing.

Car hits pole

in Heidelberg Twp

Joseph J. Hedash, 58, Lansford, was driving a 2005 Ford Escape 2:18 p.m. Jan. 6 westbound along Best Station Road, approaching Church Road, Heidelberg Township when the car slid off the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole with its front right quarter panel, State Police Troop M Bethlehem say.

The car continued straight causing damage to the front right wheel, front quarter panel, right side view mirror and both right side doors.

The vehicle came to rest on the right lane.

Police say Hedash had already called for a tow prior to their arrival.

Hedash, who police say was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured.

2-vehicle crash

in Heidelberg Twp

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say a 16-year old Fogelsville boy was driving a 1987 Ford Ranger 2:59 p.m. Jan. 6 along Northwest Road, Heidelberg Township, when it was struck by a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Jeffrey W. Geiger, 48, of Macungie.

According to police, the truck was southbound on Northwest Road, when the teen attempted to make a left turn into a business at the corner of Route 309.

His truck was struck by Geiger's car, which was northbound on Northwest Road.

Geiger attempted to avoid the collision but his car struck the right wheel and right rear of the truck with its front right bumper and headlight.

Both drivers, who police say were wearing their seat belts were uninjured, police say. The truck sustained minor damage. The car sustained disabling damage to the front right wheel, bumper, headlight and quarter panel.

The teen was charged with a traffic violation, police say.
