Northampton Area School District kindergarten and first-grade registration for the 2015-16 school year is under way.

Visit the school's website at http://nasdschools.org and follow the links to register your child.

Registration for Borough schools can be completed online Feb. 3-Feb. 8.

Lehigh, Moore and George Wolf elementary schools will hold their registration at the schools Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 1:45 to 6 p.m.

Your child must reach 5 years old before Sept. 1.

For admission to first grade, the child must be 6 years old before Sept. 1. Children currently enrolled in kindergarten in the school district need not register for first grade.

A birth certificate (or proof of birth date) and immunization records are required at time of registration.

Parents and guardians must also provide two proofs of residency (a driver's license, a signed lease, an agreement of sale, a moving permit or a utility bill) verifying your name and address. Also, bring any custody papers pertaining to your child.

The districtwide clothing drive began Monday, Jan. 26. Items will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 6.

Throughout the district, all buildings will be collecting outgrown, used clothing to benefit families in the community.

Be sure the items are clean and in good condition.

The students will be bringing home a more detailed flier with specifics about this community effort.

Elementary school report cards will be distributed Friday, Jan. 30.

Mark your calendars for upcoming PTA meetings that are scheduled.

The next Lehigh Elementary School PTA meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the school.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Moore Elementary School PTA will meet 9 a.m. at the school. Also Feb. 3, the George Wolf Elementary School group meets 7 p.m. at George Wolf.
