LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the Editor:

We mourn the recent death of our friend and partner in ministry, the Rev. Roy E. Gulliford in Sarasota, Fla.

Pastor Gulliford, known affectionately as "P.G.," lived in Macungie since 1970 when he became director of three Lutheran Church camps Ministerium, Miller and Hagan on the Delaware River.

In 1974, he became the founding executive director of the merged Bear Creek Camp and Conference Center, Bear Creek, until his retirement in 1996. He was an active member in the life and ministry of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus, 1970 to 2001.

Pastor Gulliford made a difference through the years in the lives of thousands and thousands of young people and adults in the Lehigh Valley, eastern Pennsylvania and far beyond who were enriched and shaped by his pastoral ministry. He will not be forgotten; he will always be remembered with gratitude and thanksgiving.

Rev. Fred S. Foerster, Pastor Emeritus

St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus
