Allentown Central Catholic celebrates Catholic Schools Week through Jan. 30.

This annual event is a chance to celebrate the opportunity to be part of a Catholic school. The week's events reminds everyone who is involved with a Catholic school about the values and importance of their education.

All Catholic schools have different events planned and certain days feature certain themes.

For instance, Allentown Central Catholic will hold a student appreciation day Jan. 28. Students will enjoy ice cream at lunch.

Administrators, faculty and staff will be the focus Jan. 29 and events will show gratitude to those who are in charge of the day-to-day demands at Central Catholic.

Central Catholic recently welcomed two new members to its staff.

Ashley Pittman is now director of admissions and is in charge of all the different aspects involved in bringing new students in from area schools and making sure all freshman and transfer students feel welcome.

Dennis Csensits has been hired as the future director of athletics and associate director of athletic development. Csensits will head the athletic department and help organize Central Catholic athletics to ensure all students are able to perform to their best abilities on the field.

Central Catholic is happy to welcome two new members to the school family.
