The Whitehall-Coplay School Board approved the assistant to the superintendents contract at its Jan. 12 meeting.
In a roll-call vote, all 9 members of the board approved a motion to reappoint Dr. Lorie D. Hackett as the assistant to the superintendent.
Hackett's term will run from July 1 through June 30, 2020.
In operations and transportation matters, the board approved authorizing Lehigh Carbon Community College to purchase alternative sites for Allentown and Carbon County.
In a phone call to The Press, district Business Manager Michael Malay said the college needs to get a majority of local districts approval in order to have developers come in and purchase new sites.
"The cost will not affect the district," Malay said.
The board approved a contract extension to the current janitorial cleaning service contract with Executive Building Services.
The contract will be in effect from April 1 through June 30, 2018.
The board also approved Standing Stone Consulting, Inc. to perform a threat, vulnerability, risk assessment and security plan for the school district.
Malay said the company worked with Kutztown University and has worked with other local districts as well.
