Parkland dance team celebrates 14 years of performing at games

Parkland High School Dance Team has been a fixture at boys basketball games for more than a decade.

While the team has had several coaches since its inception in 2001, the constant influence has been advisor Shellie Pany, who created the team and has been with them every step of the way.

Seniors Kelsea Davis, Abby Hurd and Tiana Kicska captain this year's team of 20 girls.

In addition to performing at the boys basketball games, they are now performing at the girls home games and have also performed at the Just Dance Showcase, Parkland Foundation Gala, the Hoop Group basketball showcase and IronPigs baseball games.

They soon will be featured at an upcoming Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey game at the new PPL Center, Allentown.

All team members are affiliated with local dance studios, such as Dance Fusion, Miss Jean's School of Dance, Accent and the Performing Arts Center of the Lehigh Valley.

To watch one of the finest dance teams in the Lehigh Valley, come to a Parkland game any Tuesday or Friday night through Feb. 6.
